You could do that or why not just add a shot of espresso. The coffee grounds my not be very pleasant as far as texture goes. I would either do a shot of espresso or even mix in some instant coffee. If you don't like coffee, maybe you should get your energy from a healthier source like protein or fiber.

I know what you mean – you want a substitute coffee – not another drink that has all kinds of sugar and flavorings in it. It is very hard to find a substitute that actually tastes like coffee. The one I have now is Pero Instant natural beverage – contains only malted barley, barley and chicory. It is the chicory that makes it taste something like coffee. There is another brand that has more chicory in it but I can not remember it's name. I think it is a little better. What I do is put a scoop of the Pero in a cup and a small amt of decaf coffee (if you can at least have a dab of it) and that seems to do the trick for me. What I used to love in place of coffee was Postum but they discontinued making it awhile back which is a shame. Oh, I bought the Pero (and the other brand whose name I can not remember) at either Whole foods or Trader Joe's.

A lot of my schools are starting to use Audacity, but I haven't really looked at it myself (and can't even say if it does what you want).
Worth a look though and its free.
What I would do is line it with a mossy/staw type material , have pieces poking out in random spots. Attach one or two of those realistic looking birds used for crafts and hot glue them to the top edge. Add a chain link (a thin one) to three spots and make it a hanging basket…add one or two artificial butterflies or bees onto the chain. Get a hook for the top , tie a raffia bow around the bottom of the hook , just for looks. I think it would come out cute…like a birds nest plant hanger…or you can even just use it outdoors as a decorative storage piece , throw your extra packets of seeds , or keep matches for the grill in it , gardening gloves…I know you are not planning on using it , but I think it would be nice to have a story behind your creation if anyone asks what it is used for.
