One of my favorite memories was receiving a gift basket from Crabtree & Evelyn. I just checked them out as I recall a store they had on Connecticut…many life times ago…but alas no more. There is one at Washington Reagan and also at Pentagon City Mall. Also, there is reference to a Rodman's Gourmet Store.

Because you can include teas and soaps and lotions…they are always welcome in my mind. Just my thoughts!

One that can sample means you can load your own sounds into it. One without a sampler will mean you will be stuck with just the stock sounds. Depending on what you buy though for a sampling drum machine there may be no stock sounds at all, and the only way is to load your own sounds into it. Then some others have built in sounds and the capability of sampling in your own sounds as well. I would go play around with the ones you are interested in at the store and make a decision based on the way it feels, the sound quality, and of course what you are trying to make with it. Different equiptment may be better for certain styles of music

School snack programs are a great idea. Unfortunately, snack programs are very expensive and school systems cannot often contribute to them as their meal funding is limited to lunch programs. Local businesses and organizations may be willing to contribute to support the schools in their area, but these types of participants are, at best, occasional.

If you are planning to make this a daily event, you may want to focus on the lower grades and simply have the parents send snacks along with their kids. A room-parent program can help facilitate snack-time. Room-parents can help teachers in coordinating snack-time and in recognizing the needs of some of the students–where parents may not be able to afford to send snacks. You can probably find a way to assist a few of the students and do so without dampening the experience for anyone or drawing unecessary attention. Again, the time a room-parent contributes can be as valuable to a teacher as any donation.

Our school came up with a mascot to get the kids involved. Once you have established how you would like to approach establishing the snack time and are reasonably sure you can invite participation, start with a mascot search and ask the kids who they would like to help them with their snack time choices. The mascots can then act as a focus for communicating healthy snack habits and news to students and parents alike.

    Good Luck.

That sounds like a decent snack…it will fill you up and doesn't have a lot of calories. I would probably add some low fat or skim milk though…your menu didn't have much (any?) calcium…..or you could eat your cereal and have a cup of yogurt too.

We all have sustainable foodies to shop for during the holidays, whether they’re parents, friends, chefs, kids, or even pets. While a one-size-fits-all present would make the shopping experience a whole lot easier, unfortunately, that’s just not realistic. Change.org’s two-part Gift Guide for Sustainable Foodies has options that are sure to please even the choosiest folks on your list. Whether your loved ones have two legs or four, are one or 100, are expert chefs or can’t cook an egg — we’ve got you covered. For Parents If anyone needs a caffeine boost during the day, it’s parents. Wrap up some ecologically and ethically produced coffee for the Moms and Dads in your life. Fair Trade-certified java means beans were harvested in an environmentally friendly way without using child labor. A few Fair Trade-certified options include Green Mountain Coffee’s Fair Trade Organic Coffee Sampler, Tony’s Holiday Blend Gift Pack, Caffe Ibis’ Organic Cafe Femenino, Peace Coffee’s Blendo Suave, or…

I would like it yes and I would like some chocolates added to it.Do you want my address?

  24. fargue elfleece says:

I don't know the exact list, but it contains many, many different items. The list is revised every few years so that yes, it most probably does contain items like PCs and digital cameras now – and it has had items deleted which are no longer relevant (in the 1950s it used to contain a pound of lard!).

It contains mainly groceries and consumer goods. I believe petrol is included, but household bills and so on are not.

You should be able to google it to find out – I remember reading it in Metro either last year or the year before, so I don't believe it's some big state secret.

You might want to try sites like Artfire or Etsy for unique handmade gifts. I personally have a pottery shop on Artfire and I know my mugs make great gifts. Something like that would be unique without being so specific that it comes across as "too much".

  39. pricia whitehrere says:

Bona-fide gifts are not taxable to the recipient. The giver pays the gift tax. The date that the gift is given determines the year that the gift tax exemption applies to so any gift given during 2007 counts to the exemption for 2007.

Therefore, you don't need to worry about any tax consequences yourself, only the giver does.
